You’re a technically strong QA Engineer with experience of complex, distributed systems.
You’ll be contributing to the quality of critical internet infrastructure within a unique international partnership between Dutch registry SIDN and Canadian registry CIRA, who operate the .nl and .ca top-level domains, respectively.
In collaboration with CIRA colleagues, you’ll work on systems that enable global domain registrations, for which consistency, reliability and security are vital. That may involve travelling to Canada occasionally and will mean bridging organisational boundaries, time zones and operational differences on a daily basis to ensure uniform, predictable platform performance.
You’ll have considerable experience in software development and in the realisation and maintenance of automated test environments. You’ll think in terms of system behaviour, edge cases and data consistency within distributed architectures and testing within an Agile setting where there’s a strong focus on reliability and reproducibility. You’ll develop and maintain automated test strategies, test plans and frameworks covering the entire domain registration lifecycle.
Your work will have direct impact on the stability, availability and security of the internet.
As part of a compact team of about 8 people, you’ll work on critical infrastructure that has to be available 24/7, with reliability and accuracy paramount.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Using industry-standard automation tools to develop and perform automated tests on new products and extensions to existing products
Planning, documenting, rolling out and managing test strategies for assigned features
Defining and maintaining test cases for various types of test (e.g. functional tests, performance tests, etc)
Collaborating with developers and other specialists on product testing, including functional testing, system testing and automated regression testing
Following best practices for software development and quality assurance
Communicating information about test progress, test results and other relevant matters to stakeholders and management
Contributing to the evaluation of new tools to improve the test process and the continuous delivery process
Continuing the automation and enhancement of the CI/CD pipeline
