Although a lot of general information about the GDPR is already available, we're putting on a webinar to look at its specific implications for the domain name registration process. What will the GDPR mean for the registration, transfer and cancellation of .nl (and other) domain names? What are the respective responsibilities of resellers, registrars and SIDN? How will the GDPR affect the Whois?
Several experts in the field will be speaking at the webinar:
- Michiel Henneke, SIDN's Marketing Manager, will host the webinar.
- Peter Kager, Privacy Manager at ICTRecht, will briefly explain what the GDPR is and consider its specific implications for domain name registration. How is data shared between registrant, registrar and SIDN? Who has responsibility for what?
- Chiel van Spaandonk, Registration & Service Specialist at SIDN, will go over the changes that have to be made to the Registrar Whois. What information are you currently allowed to look up, which you won't have access to after 25 May?
Plenty of opportunity to ask questions
The one-hour webinar will be fully interactive. You'll be able to ask questions at any time by using the chat facility. Members of the Legal Committee of the Registrars' Association, plus SIDN's Legal Counsel and Data Protection Officer Karin Vink, will be ready and waiting to answer.
