Made up of experts and internet community representatives, the Advisory Panel’s role will be to support the Fund, particularly with the assessment of project proposals.
Since 10 February 2010, Prince Constantijn has been a member of the cabinet of Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, becoming Head of Cabinet in April 2013. Before joining Kroes’s team, the prince headed up the RAND Corporation’s Brussels office and RAND Europe’s Information Economics Policy team. He has also worked as a management consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton.
The Advisory Panel supports the SIDN Fund’s CEO and Board by providing advice and assistance with realisation of the Fund’s objectives. In particular, the Panel gives advice as to which projects are eligible for financial support. It is made up of experts and representatives of the Dutch internet community. Valerie Frissen, CEO of the SIDN Fund said, “The Board and I are very pleased that the prince has made himself available for this challenging role. Prince Constantijn has played an important role in the European debate on the future and security of the internet. His expertise will help us expedite realisation of the objective for which the Fund was created: to finance projects that will make a difference to the Netherlands.”
