The event will be devoted entirely to the latest developments and innovations in the information society. Topics such as internet security, big data, 3D printing, eHealth, robotisation, eID and internet standards will be on the agenda, and the associated ethical and social issues will also be explored. The title of this year's ECP Annual Congress is 'At the heart of digitalisation'. SIDN is pleased to be supporting the congress once again.
The programme of the ECP Annual Congres features plenary opening and closing sessions, between which there are twenty-three sub-sessions covering a wide range of subjects. Both SIDN and the SIDN Fund will be represented.
Working to make the internet stronger
During this session, Valerie Frissen (CEO of the SIDN Fund and Professor of ICT & Social Change) will introduce the audience to the SIDN Fund and compere presentations on three inspiring projects supported by the Fund. Leaders of the three projects – 'The Whitebox System' (privacy-sensitive and secure data exchange in the health care sector) , 'Pagefacts' (increased insight into the reliability of on-line sources and information) and 'DDoS and botnet pattern identification' (research into possible patterns in DDoS attacks, intended to increase the effectiveness of NaWas) – will describe their initiatives and share experiences and ideas with everyone present.
Simplerinvoicing and Bendoobox on the networking plaza
Visitors to the Annual Congress will have ample opportunity to mingle and network. A special networking plaza will be set up at the centre of the Fokker terminal. Throughout the plaza there will be inspirational demos and the latest ICT applications in fields such as secure surfing, cybersecurity, privacy and programming. SIDN will be hosting two demos: Jaap Nienhuis will be demonstrating the benefits of electronic invoicing via the Simplerinvoicing network, while Martin Smelt from Reshift Digital introduces everyone to the Bendoobox.
