SIDN and Code Week
SIDN sponsors Code Week because computer code is the language of the future. Understanding IT is vital for today's youngsters to thrive in tomorrow's world. So it's never too early to get children interested in programming. SIDN also works closely with the company that makes the Bendoo Box. The Bendoo Box is a full set of resources put together to playfully introduce school children to programming with a Raspberry Pi and Scratch software. See Bendoobox.nl for more information.
Code Week links together new and established initiatives to focus the attention of pupils and teachers on learning to code. Dutch Code Week is part of European Code Week, an initiative by former European Commissioner Neelie Kroes and her Young Advisors. Dutch Code Week is being organised by ECP, the Platform for the Information Society and the Kennisnet Foundation. Details are available at codeweek.nl.
